Message from the Vice-Chancellor and President

On behalf of The University of Queensland (UQ), I would like to thank you for your commitment to creating lasting change throughout 2025.

There is much to be proud of as we reflect on the past year – from advances in world-leading research and innovation, to expanding access to education for students in Queensland and beyond. These achievements are a testament to the shared dedication of our community to deliver for the public good.

In 2025, more than 4,400 donors chose to support causes across the University. Additionally, over 1,540 students were supported by scholarships that enabled them to thrive in their studies and pursue their ambitions at UQ.

Donor generosity also continued to expand educational opportunity through The Queensland Commitment. Together, we’ve raised more than $45  million to date to advance this critical initiative.
