UQ in bloom

It's a blooming beautiful time of the year at UQ. Enjoy these stunning snaps showcasing our historic Jacaranda trees.

Each spring, UQ's campuses burst into colour with the annual blooming of the Jacaranda trees. The beloved tree is an emblem for the University, and has long been a special part of campus culture.

The vivid purple flowers flourish, before eventually fluttering down to carpet the ground.

To celebrate this annual bloom, and the local lore surrounding it, Contact has compiled a photo feature honouring these historic trees.
